DESCRIPTION

This painting is a celebration of Singapore’s colourful Peranakan shophouses that are steeped in rich history. With pre-war shophouses and Peranakan architecture, neighbourhoods like Katong and Joo Chiat are known for their colourful, pretty sights. The Rumah Bebe store is housed in a uniquely teal storefront and is renowned for its preservation of Peranakan culture. The building it resides in was built all the way back in 1928, and blends in well with the timeless look of the Katong streets.
