DESCRIPTION
The Singapore Botanic Gardens deserves the recognition it gets.. it is the first tropical botanic garden on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List. With more than 150 years of history, the 82-hectare Gardens holds a unique and significant place in the history of Singapore and the region. The Swan Lake is a major attraction in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It was constructed in 1866, and is home to numerous species of aquatic plants and fishes, the lake covers an area of slightly less than 1.5 hectares, with a depth of about 4 metres. The Swan Lake Gazebo, that you see in this painting, is made of cast iron and was first located at the Gardens in 1969 and continues to welcome visitors to sit in its shelter till today.
