This little fella needs no introduction, he has formed a part of children’s lives for generations; in the form of books, TV shows, movies and of course soft toys! It was only fitting that Winnie the Pooh finds his place in my set of gallery wall art of “happy paintings”. A perfect subject, a yellow soft toy who has brought a lot is smiles to kids and parents both!
I think my teenage daughter summed it up well when she saw the painting – mama I would love to pick him up, ruffle up his fur and cuddle him!

This colourful Joo Chiat Shophouses watercolour painting is done on commission basis. I have taken artistic liberties to add plants, trees and a couple of ideas that the client had – pet dogs, Chinese New Year decor. The addition of plants makes the painting more delicate and details even more intriguing. This artwork is off to the US with it’s happy new owner!

Located in the historic district of Chinatown, Singapore, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum’s richly designed interiors and comprehensive exhibits on Buddhist art and history tell stories of culture over thousands of years old. I have tried to capture the temples beauty and grandeur in this painting.

This painting deserves a bit of history – Formerly a girls school known as the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus Middle Education School, CHIJMES (pronounced ‘chimes’) harks back to a bygone age. CHIJMES began with one building—Caldwell House as a home for a Senior Magistrate’s clerk. In 1853 and Singapore’s St Nicholas Girls’ School was established alongside an orphanage for children and a boarding house. The church you see in this painting has intricate plasterwork, wall frescoes and Belgian stained glass windows which to date inspire wonder! In the daytime, CHIJMES retains a sense of tranquillity and harmony, making it a peaceful oasis amid the bustle of the city. At night, it’s exciting dining and nightlife options spring to life, with buzzing bars and restaurants. This painting shows the church in all its glory and gives a taste of the vibrant nightlife surrounding it.

The Bandstand, an octagonal gazebo, is an iconic landmark in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It was erected in 1930. It is one of the most popular wedding photoshoot destinations! And it’s only fitting that this watercolour painting of the Bandstand is commissioned as a wedding gift. I have tried to capture the detailed columns of the structure and the intricate architecture. The lush greenery that surrounds the gazebo completes the painting!
Made by playing with the transparency of watercolours, this still life will look great in a dining area or kitchen or even at the bar.
